Summary: The Round Table is a mystical table where King Arthur, the knights, and sometimes the wizard Merlin would dine and discuss matters. The Round Table was the name of King Arthur’s knights as well. They were known as the Knights of the Round Table. It represented equality and unity among the knights. The Round Table was broken up when some of its members died and conflicts rose among the knights. Characters: King Arthur is the King of Britain and some of his most renowned knights are Gawain, Percival, Lancelot, Galahad, and Mordred. Allusion: An allusion to the round table can be seen in the book, Mists of Avalon, in which a round table, one of the only ones at the time, was given to Arthur as a wedding gift by Gwendolyn’s father. This is an allusion to The Round Table, because the round table that is used by Arthur in the book becomes the place where he and his knights would dine, and talk at.
