A) Noah and the Ark
B) Summary: When the world became wicked and full of violence, God decided to punish the people of earth by destroying his creations and all the sins that arose by a deluge. God determined that he will flood the earth, destroying all the corrupted inhabitants who live upon the land. One man, however, was worth of God’s notice. Noah, “righteous in his generation” (as claimed by God), is speared through this ordeal. Before the flood arrives, God instructs Noah to build an Ark, where his family and a stock of the world’s animals will survive. After the flood arrives, all are killed except for the creatures on the ark. To test for land, Noah sent a variation of birds including ravens and doves to scout for land. When he arrives upon the land, Noah sacrifices one of each animal to God, in which God in return promise to never harm the land or the people again. God and Noah agree to a covenant, in which whenever God sees a rainbow in the clouds, he will be reminded of the promise he made with people of earth.
Characters:
Noah- the only “righteous one” in her generation whom is spared by God and built the Ark
God- the mighty who was upset with his creations and decided to drown them, however spared Noah
C) Allusion: Even Almighty, a 2007 film, has a plot similar to Noah’s Ark. Even, who is the main character of the film, gets instructions from God to build an Ark to prepare for the incoming deluge that will soon engulf the earth. Even must rescue his family, friends, and animals from the oncoming deluge, in which at the end accomplish his goals. This is similar to Noah’s Ark as both men had been approached by God to build an Ark, where they must escape from the same deluge that eventually floods the earth. Both men also only save their loved ones and a set of animals, in which is both used to repopulate the earth when they become the only ones left.
